Yvette was born in New Orleans but spent most of her childhood in Texas. More drawn to fashion photo shoots than guns and horses, she dreamt of moving to NYC. Armed with a BFA in graphic design, she landed a prestigious internship under the creative direction of renowned advertising provocateur Sam Shahid. She stayed on to work with Shahid as an art director at his Soho studio, on some now-iconic campaigns such as Valentino, Abercrombie & Fitch and Versace. During this time Yvette had the opportunity to work with some of the most visionary photographers in the industry including Steven Meisel, Herb Ritts and Bruce Weber. A stint at J.Crew as they were changing the popular fashion landscape closed out her time in NYC. She then ventured cross country to art direct for Hanna Andersson in Portland, Oregon. She became a driving force in recreating and elevating the brand during her tenure and rose to become the creative director.

Never one to rest on her creative laurels, Yvette finally picked up a camera and started shooting. She is the creative director and co-founder of Papillon magazine and currently works as a freelance photographer and art director, bringing to life her own dreams and the visions of others.

A lover of travel, Yvette currently resides in Portland, Oregon. When she’s not working, she is usually to be found initiating spontaneous dance parties or trying to perfect her headstand. | 503.702.7542
